Calgary AB TB Z, Canada Western Crating International Full time $22,800 - $24,000 per year

Western Crating International packages freight for domestic transit and international export. We design, manufacture, and deliver cost-effective packaging and crating solutions. We work with customers over a wide range of growing industries.

Primary duties include:

  • Preparing and assembling raw dimensional lumber into a final product. This includes the use of stationary and manual tools.
  • Responsible to keep work areas clean.
  • Handling customer freight with various material handling equipment responsibly and with care.
  • Working in a team environment while following instructions and safety rules.

Requirements

  • Pneumatic and power tool experience.
  • General woodworking experience.
  • Able to work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license. Drivers abstract may be required
  • Able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good understanding of the English language both written and spoken and able to understand drawings and build sheets.
  • Able to work from ladders and at heights.
  • Forklift, Fall Arrest, and First aid are an asset.

Summary

As a General Labourer, you will be an essential part of our team, responsible for various tasks that support our operations. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, your role involves utilizing core skills such as woodworking and operating power tools, as well as maintaining safety standards. A valid Class 5 Licence and forklift operation experience are crucial for this position. Your proficiency in English will facilitate effective communication within the team, ensuring a productive and safe work environment.
