Job Summary:

The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales team, including two Destination Wedding Consultants and one Sales Assistant. The role focuses on selling group travel for destination wedding guests and ensuring a smooth transition of bookings to the Travel Team for execution. The Sales Manager will handle client inquiries, oversee sales strategies, and manage escalated issues related to the booking process.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Client Management:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for group travel bookings.
  • Oversee the Destination Wedding Consultants and Sales Assistant to ensure they effectively sell travel packages for destination wedding guests.
  • Maintain strong relationships with wedding planners and clients to understand their travel needs and ensure successful bookings.
  • Provide support and guidance to the sales team to help them meet their individual and team goals.
  • Ensure smooth transitions for group travel bookings from sales to the Travel Team, with proper documentation and coordination.

Team Leadership & Training:

  • Supervise and mentor the Destination Wedding Consultants and Sales Assistant.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, track progress, and provide coaching to improve sales performance.
  • Provide ongoing training for the sales team to enhance their skills in customer service, travel sales, and client management.

Sales Execution:

  • Ensure that all group travel bookings are completed accurately and on time.
  • Address client concerns and inquiries related to travel options, availability, and pricing.
  • Collaborate with the Travel Manager and Account Managers to ensure all travel arrangements are executed to client specifications.

Escalation Handling:

The Sales Manager plays a critical role in managing and resolving client issues and internal challenges. The

process ensures that issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner. When escalation is necessary, the Sales Manager follows a clear process to resolve problems and maintain positive client relationships.

Assessment of the Issue:

  • The Sales Manager must assess the issue based on its severity, client impact, and urgency.
  • Evaluate whether the issue is a customer service concern, a logistical problem, or a challenge related to internal team performance.

Attempt Resolution at the Destination Wedding Consultant Level:

  • Issues should first be handled by the Destination Wedding Consultants, as they are directly involved with clients and are familiar with the travel details.
  • The Sales Manager should support the consultants in addressing client concerns or resolving issues if they are unable to handle them independently.

Collaboration with Other Departments:

  • If the issue is related to travel logistics or execution, the Sales Manager should collaborate with the Travel Manager and Account Managers to address and resolve the problem.
  • For payment disputes or contract-related issues, the Sales Manager will need to coordinate with the Finance Department or Legal Team.

Escalate to Senior Management if Required:

  • If the issue cannot be resolved within the sales or travel team, or if it has a significant impact on client satisfaction, the Sales Manager should escalate the matter to the Director of Sales or CEO.
  • This step is crucial when handling high-profile clients, complex issues, or when internal resolution has not been effective.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement:

  • After an issue is resolved, the Sales Manager should ensure all details are documented, including the cause of the issue, actions taken, and the outcome.
  • The Sales Manager should also lead a post-mortem discussion with the team to identify opportunities for improving processes and preventing future problems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of proven experience in sales, business development, or account management.
  • 1–2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably managing a sales team.
