THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team and contribute to an our upcoming project. You will be accountable for executing technical strategies throughout the project lifecycle and will directly impact the Scovan customer experience. This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be a part of a dynamic team working with the project manager to execute the electrical engineering responsibilities on a challenging and innovative SAGD well pad project.
  • Ensures that the project execution is in accordance with the Scovan Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP).
  • Identify potential operational barriers and improve on the reliability of our project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the client to understand the objectives of the project and to clearly identify what success looks like.
  • Communicate, interface, and collaborate effectively with manager, project team, vendors, and client.
  • Advocate for success by ensuring the project team has time and space to apply sound design practices in the execution of the project.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities to not only meet basic project objectives, but to deliver an exceptional project that exceeds expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience of applicable project execution experience
  • APEGA Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, advanced knowledge of Excel is a benefit
  • Expertise and competency in the following areas:
  • Hazardous area assessment and classification
  • Low and medium voltage power systems
  • Electrical system studies and using SKM or ETAP software (short circuit, load flow, coordination, arc flash)
  • Electrical and controls design, integration, equipment sizing and selection (generators, transformers, switchgears, MCC, PLC and control systems, heat tracing infrastructure)
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills and the ability to manage in an environment of ambiguity with a diverse range of partners
  • Experience working in continuous delivery environments where the pace is fast
