About The Role
The Machine Learning and Gen AI Engineer role at Deloitte is a dynamic position designed for professionals passionate about leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to solve complex business challenges. Based in Toronto, ON, this permanent, hybrid work model position involves engaging with high-growth organizations to design, deploy, and manage scalable machine learning models in production environments. As part of our AI and Data practice, you will collaborate with a talented team of data scientists, data architects, software developers, and industry experts to craft innovative AI/ML solutions that automate processes, optimize operations, and unlock new business opportunities. Your responsibilities will include developing and operationalizing machine learning models, participating in client presentations and proposals, and supporting project management activities for both client and internal initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AI innovation, contributing to transformative projects that create tangible business value.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant experience in building and automating data analytics and machine learning pipelines
• Hands-on experience in ML model development and deployment
• Proficiency in Python for machine learning and automation tasks
• Experience with MLOps frameworks such as Kubeflow, AWS SageMaker, Google AI Platform, Azure Machine Learning, DataRobot, or MLFlow
• Strong knowledge of database management and data manipulation using SQL, Oracle, Hadoop, NoSQL, or similar tools
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native ecosystem tools
• Ability to work with ambiguous data, develop creative analytical approaches, and interpret data from a business perspective
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS (asset)
• Project management experience (asset)
• Professional services, consulting, or advisory experience (asset)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning models tailored to client needs
• Operationalize ML projects using industry-standard MLOps practices and tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and industry experts to deliver innovative AI solutions
• Participate in client presentations, proposals, and strategic discussions to demonstrate AI capabilities and insights
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, and documentation to ensure successful project execution
• Continuously evaluate emerging AI/ML technologies and incorporate best practices into solutions
• Support internal initiatives to enhance Deloitte's AI capabilities and thought leadership
• Assist in training and mentoring junior team members to foster a collaborative learning environment
