HET Journeyman Mechanic, 3rd year Apprentice, or Hydraulic Technician

Our innovated full power hydrovac equipment is operated and monitored by our intelligent on-board control system which takes to equipment operational guess work out of the way of the operator and allows the operator to focus on the excavation tasks.

Job Description:

The HET Mechanic/ Apprentice reports to the Shop Foreman. Preference will be given to those individuals experienced in working with hydraulics. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, commissioning, rebuilding or modifying hydraulic fluid systems, controls and components.

SmartVac is a build shop, so all work is performed at the shop, and for the most part you are building a new system.

Responsibilities:

· Reporting to superiors

· Record Keeping

· Perform all shop duties associated as required.

· Follow safety rules and operating and maintenance instructions.

· Keep current with industry practices and standards.

· Follow instructions and get jobs done in a timely manner.

Required Skills:

· Alberta HET Mechanic Apprentice

· Forklift certification or the ability to attain.

· Ability to read and speak English, schematics and manuals.

· Weight handling up to 75 lbs.

· Must have basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)

· Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Must be a 3rd year or higher.

· Experience in hydraulics with pumps, motors, cylinders, testing and setup.

· Class 5 driver's licence

· Communication

· Time Management

· Attention to Detail

· Problem Solving

We operate Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm.
