Job Summary:
TKL Niagara Group Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our precast operations. The role involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing vehicles, equipment, and components, as well as performing welding and fabrication to required standards.
Duties include diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and operation of tools, lifts, and overhead cranes.
The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, physical capability, and a focus on safety.
This position requires independence, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and reliability in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Responsibilities will be as follows, but not limited to:
· Perform annual inspections on tractors, trailers, engines, electrical/mechanical/computer systems.
· Diagnose, repair, replace, upgrade, and maintain parts, systems, and equipment.
· Conduct routine maintenance (fluids, lubrication, adjustments) to ensure functionality and longevity.
· Schedule service, provide accurate estimates, and keep detailed logs.
· Read/interpret blueprints, drawings, specs, manuals, and welding process requirements.
· Perform welding, brazing, flame-cutting, metal shaping, bending, fitting, and fabrication of cages of all sizes/complexities.
· Inspect welds to meet standards and ensure material weldability.
· Operate welding equipment, overhead cranes (up to 25T), brakes, shears, hand and power tools.
· Maintain/repair tools, equipment, and welding gear in safe condition.
· Follow health & safety regulations; perform housekeeping duties daily.
· Physically capable: prolonged standing, climbing, pulling, and lifting heavy objects.
· Able to work independently and deliver high-quality results.
Job Requirements:
· Licensed mechanic with proven maintenance experience.
· Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic components; mixers, conveyors, skip hoists, and material elevators.
· Skilled in diagnostic systems, methods, and use of hand/power tools and heavy equipment (e.g., lifts).
· Valid G Class license with clean abstract; vocational training, apprenticeship, or ASE certification an asset.
· Physically fit, able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and work in demanding environments.
· Committed to safety protocols and protection against chemical, fluid, and energy hazards.
· High school diploma preferred; additional technical certifications considered an advantage.
