We are currently looking to add a new role to our team: Production Coordinator

Summary

The Production Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations on the production floor. This position is responsible for coordinating production schedules, maintaining inventory records, tracking progress, and acting as a liaison between various departments such as production, quality control, procurement, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor daily production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders
  • Track raw material usage and finished goods to maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Work closely with supervisors and leads to resolve production delays or issues
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of production data, downtime, and output
  • Assist with planning maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
  • Prepare and distribute daily/weekly/monthly production reports
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices

Key Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Post secondary education considered an asset
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the steel or metal industry
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP systems a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, production orders, and specifications
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and manufacturing best practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
