Your primary responsibility will be to "run the floor" - guiding the team's daily workflow, ensuring projects are managed brilliantly, and that our communications tactics are implemented on time and to the highest standard. You will also serve as a key strategic advisor to the Director, ready to provide senior counsel and step in when needed.

  • Translate the city's strategic priorities into actionable communications and engagement plans. You will be accountable for the successful, on-time delivery of all team projects and tactics.
  • Serve as a senior advisor and main point person to CGS departmental management. You will help develop and maintain effective policies and plans that shape the city's relationship with the public and provide thoughtful recommendations on complex, politically sensitive issues.
  • Oversee the section's budget and resources, the annual business planning process, media relations, issues management, and the city's digital presence and visual identity standards.
  • Act as a key source of public information for the City of Greater Sudbury and assume the role of secondary Emergency Information Officer during the activation of the City's Emergency Response Plan.
