Concrete Finishing Supervisor

Profile

The Concrete Finishing Supervisor oversees the final stages of a construction project, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. This position reports to the Project Manager and Site Superintendent and is responsible for overseeing all concrete rendering and placing activities on-site to ensure optimal efficiency, quality control, and timely completion of project closeout requirements. This role ensures that the needs of internal and external stakeholders are met, contractual obligations are fulfilled, and all work is completed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and safety standards. This position requires travel between our project sites within the Lower Mainland area.

Your desired Education, Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in concrete finishing supervision or related commercial construction formwork roles.
• Post-secondary education or diploma in a Construction related field or Journeyman trade certification
• Hands-on experience managing subcontractors, quality control, and punch list completion.
• Proven ability to interpret and apply construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience developing and monitoring Quality Control for concrete finishing
• Proficient in Bluebeam, MS Office, and common quality management software, such as Procore or InEight
• Extensive knowledge of concrete mix designs, finishing techniques, slab flatness/levelness standards (FF/FL), and relevant CSA/ACI specifications.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with clients, GCs, trades, and internal teams.
• Effective problem-solving and leadership abilities with a proactive approach to resolving site issues.
• Knowledge and the ability to comply with all WorkSafe (WCB) procedures/safety practices including on site work practices and guidelines and ensure site cleanliness
• Valid safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid, Fall Protection)
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate crews & sub-contractors
• Effective organizational skills
• Ability to work well with others with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team
• Must have personal protection equipment (PPE) and a reliable means of transportation to job sites
• Must be able to work outdoors on occasion and in adverse weather conditions.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as required.
• Must be reliable, dependable and detail oriented.
• Ability to speak Spanish is considered an asset
