We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Automation Engineer to lead and drive a critical program involving multiple complex projects within our wireless network infrastructure group. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful deployment, scalability, and automation of solutions that support cutting-edge telecommunications services.

About the Role

As a Senior DevOps Automation Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and external vendors, owning projects from inception through delivery. You will architect and implement automation frameworks and infrastructure enhancements that boost operational efficiency and meet telco-grade reliability standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of DevOps best practices, including Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), automated testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Architect, develop, and maintain highly resilient, secure, and scalable software-driven infrastructure that meets stringent telecommunications availability and performance requirements.
  • Proactively monitor production environments to ensure platform availability, stability, and performance; rapidly troubleshoot and resolve issues while automating repetitive operational tasks.
  • Manage and optimize capacity planning for both development and production infrastructure to support evolving business demands.
  • Collaborate closely with software development teams to streamline the release of new features and services into production environments.
  • Drive improvements in operational practices, incident management, and deployment procedures to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Develop and implement strategies for open-source collaboration, leveraging Git, CI/CD pipelines, and integration with third-party tools to accelerate development velocity across multiple teams.
  • Author comprehensive documentation for software components, automation tools, and infrastructure configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in DevOps, automation engineering, or technical project management, ideally within the telecommunications or network infrastructure domain.
  • Proven expertise in designing and managing large-scale CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
  • Strong programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Groovy) and experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Deep understanding of network infrastructure and wireless telecom technologies is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse technical teams and external vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying risks and implementing solutions.
