Work location: Hybrid work environment, including working at MFRS Family Support Office (130 Ave & 97 St)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Programs provides program management of family support programs and supervision of staff working in these programs. This position is a job share position with another individual. The Manager is responsible for program efficiency, including development and evaluation, mentorship and guidance to staff, and advocating and representing the organization with partners and collaborators in the community. The ideal person would be grounded in the following MFRS Principles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and manage performance of FSO Program Coordinator, Complex Case Management Workers, facilitators, youth mentors and volunteers
- Manage the development and capacity building of FSO staff through mutual learning, modeled behaviors and effective communication so staff can work as a team to help families through complex case management.
- Conduct effective group discussions to enhance community building, connections and mutual learnings
- Utilize lived experience, community experience and professional experience to promote practices that are reflective of realities of newcomer families.
- In coordination and collaboration with MFRS Executive Director and other admin staff, provide oversight to Human Resource functions for the FSO including recruitment, onboarding, and retention of staff
- Evaluate programs to ensure they meet the needs of the community, and funder expectations and requirements, and make changes when required
- Promote a working culture that values trust, effective teamwork, professional growth and commitment to the MFRS mission and core values.
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies to best support the program participants
- Maintain timely and effective communication with internal and external funder, partners, and collaborators
- Lead in-person and virtual staff meetings
- Support with gathering data, writing reports, and grant applications
- Attend meetings and events as a representative of the organization
CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience, Skills, and other requirements:
- Education in Human Services, Community Development, or a related field of study
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working in the immigrant and refugee serving sector as an effective supervisor
- Experience in managing and evaluating community programs
- Experience in working in ways that align with MFRS principles
- Experience working with partners and collaborators to enhance programs and support for participants
- Strong understanding of complex case management supporting immigrants and refugees
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Skilled to foster relationships both internal and external to the organization
- Understands context of work in the not-for-profit/charitable sector
- Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle
- Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check (findings are reviewed on a case by case basis)
