Responsible for delivering technical training covering both theoretical and practical aspects of aircraft systems, components, and ancillary activity, as well as supporting training aids and equipment. This position reports directly to the CTC Training Development Manager, and will be included in the unionized environment of IMP Group.
What You Will Do:- Instruct Aircraft systems, both theoretical and practical
- Adopt administrative responsibilities, including assignment and examination marking
- Perform continuous improvement and development of course material, ensuring alignment with RCAF standards and CH149 Maintenance Process Manual (MPM)
- Work collaboratively with other instructors and management staff
- Ensure welfare of students while on course, providing administrative support and meeting compassionate needs
- Ensure appropriate resources and scheduling requirements are always in place ahead of training starts
- Actively participate in monitoring standards and quality control activities
- Operate, support and/or maintain all training aids, including activity on the CH149 Cormorant Cockpit Procedures Trainer (CPT), Cockpit Emulators, physical assemblies, and Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD)
- Travel domestically or internationally as necessary, in support of training or operational requirements
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and directives established by the company
- Carry out additional tasks, directly related to support of the Cormorant Training Centre (CTC), as assigned by supervisor or management
- Graduate of a recognized aircraft maintenance course or apprenticeship program and hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license or be qualified as an aircraft maintenance technician with the Canadian Armed Forces or equivalent commercial experience
- Knowledge of Training Delivery and/or Training Management techniques
- Experience in a Technical Instructional role will be considered an asset.
- Five years' aviation operational/maintenance experience is a requirement.
- Time management and public speaking skills, as well as an ability to communicate effectively in writing
- Ability to manage the peripheral aspects of training delivery, such as course reports, course critiques, and scheduling issues
- Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, including, but not limited to, power plants, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental, basic structures, avionics systems and power generation and distribution systems
- Competence with MS Office, Outlook, and virtual meeting platforms. Working knowledge of educational technologies including Learning Content Management Systems or simulation software, would be an asset

- Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.
