TYCROP is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team in the Fraser Valley.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair company equipment as directed
  • Adhere to established procedures and work instructions as well as assembly and installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals and specifications
  • Monitor the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment and report discrepancies or insufficiencies
  • Communicate progress of plant equipment repairs and make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance related problems
  • Maintain and update operating and training manuals for the maintenance department as directed

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years equivalent experience in maintenance and/or operations of a manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3rd year or Red Seal Millwright trade certification an asset
  • Experienced with pneumatic systems, hydraulics, gas powered machinery, diesel powered machinery, pumps, compressors, and electrical systems.
  • Extensive experience with hand and power tools and the operation of forklifts, overhead cranes, scissor lifts, boom lifts required.

Skills:

  • Competent in the operations of hydraulic assembly tools and knowledge of the appropriate use of hose kits, hose specifications, hydraulic/fluid circuits, hydraulic filters, gauges, quick couplers, etc.
  • Demonstrates the ability to problem solve and make decisions
  • Displays exceptional people skills and a can-do attitude
  • Utilizes effective oral communication and numeracy, problem solving, job task planning and organizational skills
  • Able to lift 50 lbs, possesses manual dexterity and is able to work at heights
  • Possesses the ability to work on own and as part of a team
  • Able to work in wet, humid, outdoor, high noise and dusty environments
  • Proficient in basic office computer software
