Are you ready to shape the future of cybersecurity at ATCO? Step into a dynamic role where you'll lead the charge in designing and launching our cutting-edge Palo Alto environment. You'll work hands-on with advanced technologies like Global Protect Agent, PAC File, Prisma Access Browser, TNA, SWG, Advanced URL Filtering, DNS Security, Threat Prevention, and WildFire Sandboxing—plus even more innovative features

As the go-to technical leader, you'll guide our talented Palo Alto Analysts, setting the standard for architectural excellence and technical best practices. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement, ensuring our systems are always optimized for peak performance.

  • Owning operations: Oversee the health and performance of our Palo Alto environment, with a proactive approach to capacity planning, maintenance, and event monitoring.

What You Get to Do:

Operational Support

  • Assist in configuring and deploying Prisma Access components:
    • Global Protect Agent, PAC File, Prisma Access Browser
    • ZTNA Connectors and Service Connections
  • Support integration of remote networks via IPSec tunnels and bandwidth provisioning
  • Help implement security services including:
    • ZTNA, SWG, Advanced URL Filtering, DNS Security, Threat Prevention, WildFire Sandboxing
    • CASB, SaaS Inline, GenAI Access Security, and browser-based DLP
  • Monitor and analyze logs via Strata Cloud Manager; assist in incident triage and reporting
  • Document configurations, workflows, and standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with network, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless implementation
  • Participate in testing, validation, and troubleshooting of access and security policies
  • Work with the ATCO Network team and the Network support vendor team to ensure they are following Palo Alto best practices

Documentation

  • Responsible for the continued documentation of the overall Palo Alto environment

Planning and Requirements

  • Support initiatives such as new or enhanced cyber security projects being considered that require Palo Alto services

  • Assist in the translation of security or network requirements into Palo Alto technical requirements and/or solutions

  • Contribute to the formulation and definition of system scope and objectives based on operational or project requirements as they relate to Palo Alto

  • Collaborate with the EA, Design Authority and Cloud Architects to ensure that the Palo Alto architecture fully supports ongoing operations and projects

  • Participate in cloud solution design to ensure completeness of technical scope and implementation

Research and Technical Evaluation

  • Keep abreast of new and emerging Palo Alto functionalities and/or service offerings

  • Maintain knowledge of cloud technologies, monitoring, and automation products in the ATCO environment

  • Work with the Design Authority to recommend new Palo Alto technology direction or options to maintain competitive advantages

Financial Operations

  • Recommend and action opportunities for cost and efficiency savings

  • Assist in reporting on Palo Alto usage, performance, and costs for the organization

What You Bring: 

  • Post secondary education in Information Systems or related field

  • PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks) certification
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or IT infrastructure
  • 3+ years of Palo Alto experience
  • Understanding of VPNs, IPSec, ZTNA, SWG, and cloud-based security models
  • Ability to translate functional processes and technical system requirements to support the successful integration of cloud technology solutions to meet business needs 

  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills and able to use non-technical language to explain technology to non-IT stakeholders

  • Ability to work in a team environment, build collaborative relationships, and negotiate with stakeholders

  • Have an innovative mindset, and a proven track record in identifying, proposing, prototyping, documenting, and overseeing the execution of cloud technology solutions

  • The ability to mentor and teach more junior team members

  • The skill to create reports and integrate when requested will be considered an asset

  • CompTIA Security+ certification is an asset

  • Familiarity with Palo Alto Networks technologies (Prisma Access, Global Protect, WildFire, etc.) is an asset

  • Experience with Cloud Fundamentals (Azure, GCP, or OCI) is an asset
