Accounts Receivable Clerk (Long Term Temporary)

This position is available in our Regional Office located in Kitchener, Ontario

Major Responsibilities:

  • Sort customer cheques from regular mail.  Prepare appropriate batches and balance.
  • Post customer payments to their accounts and balance to the prior batching total.
  • Post branch payments from summary sheets provided from the various branch locations.
  • Follow-up on customer credit letters to ensure we receive an acknowledgement copy back.
  • Research customer payment discrepancies, i.e. reconcile short payments, over payments, and communicating with branch or customers as required.
  • Coordinate and assist Financial Managers with monthly account review list.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum Grade 12 Education; post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills.
  • Excellent keyboarding skills.
  • Highly organized and a problem solver.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Experience with Sx.Enterprise / Trend is an asset but not required
  • Great communicator with strong internal/external customer relationship building skills.
  • Detail and results oriented.
