We are currently looking for Program Supervisor, Community Programs to join our team of committed professionals. This Full-Time Contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Elm location in Sudbury.
Under the leadership of the General Manager, is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and supervision of community-based programs that aim to improve the wellbeing, engagement, and capacity of individuals and groups within the community. The role provides leadership to program staff, ensures service quality, and fosters partnerships with stakeholders to meet community needs effectively.
START DATE: November, 3, 2025
LOCATION: Elm, Sudbury, ON
RATE OF PAY: $ 60,000 to 65,000 / Annually
HOURS: 40 Hours weekly
Major Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned community programs and services.
- Supervise, support, and develop a team of staff.
- Ensure programs are delivered in accordance with organizational standards, contractual obligations, and community needs.
- Monitor program outcomes, prepare reports, and recommend improvements.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify gaps, co-design solutions, and extend program reach
- Assist with research and identify funding sources, grants, sponsorships, and partnership opportunities
- Participate in the recruitment of new staff, plan and conduct new employee orientations
- Prepare goals and perform individual coaching meetings as required
- Support staff in reaching their commitments and identify performance issues
- Identify training/orientation needs and provide support where necessary
- Lead team meetings to discuss program/service improvement measures focused on day-to-day operations
- Complete monthly reports as required
- Represent the organization at meetings, forums, and community events.
- Use data and research to guide program development and measure impact
- Collaborate with partners to identify service gaps and co-design initiatives.
- Provide program information to clients
- Perform first line customer service
Qualifications
- College diploma or University degree in Social Services, or related field
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in social services or related field
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in a supervisory role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong marketing and/or sales skills
- Advanced computer skills
- Superior negotiation skills
- Crisis management skills
- Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Must have Drivers License and Vehicle
THIS POSITION IS FOR 1 YEAR CONTRACT WITH HIGH POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION
