Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Marketing Director to lead our strategic marketing and brand planning efforts for our Oncology portfolio beginning in March 2026, with a primary focus on Hematology-Oncology and Gynecologic Oncology. This national, cross-functional leadership role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive brand and customer engagement strategies that align with global objectives while reflecting the unique dynamics of the Canadian oncology landscape.
This individual will provide strategic direction, oversee brand execution, and ensure alignment between commercial and medical teams to optimize performance across Canada. The ideal candidate will bring deep oncology expertise, a strong understanding of market access and regulatory environments, and the ability to collaborate across medical, commercial, and corporate functions to drive brand performance and patient impact.
Job Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities may include the following:
- Strategic Brand Planning: Align Canadian brand strategies with global direction while tailoring to local market dynamics, clinical practice, and regulatory environment.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with key internal teams to ensure cohesive execution:
- Sales: Align field tactics and messaging with brand objectives/strategies.
- Medical Affairs: Ensure scientific accuracy and effective KOL support/engagement.
- Market Access: Develop payer value propositions and reimbursement strategies.
- Regulatory Affairs: Partner with Regulatory Affairs on label extension communications and promotional compliance.
- Customer Engagement & Omnichannel Strategy:
- Design and execute engagement plans for healthcare professionals (HCPs) through congresses, symposia, advisory boards, peer-to-peer programs, and omnichannel campaigns.
- Lead launch readiness for label extensions, ensuring internal training, messaging consistency, and external rollout effectiveness (campaigns, KOL briefings, sales tools).
- Performance Monitoring & Insights:
- Track KPIs such as brand performance, market share, and campaign ROI.
- Collaborate with Commercial Operations to develop performance dashboards and analytics.
- Lead monthly brand performance reviews with Sales and Medical teams.
- Marketing Communications & Campaign Management:
- Oversee the development of compliant promotional materials, digital campaigns, and field tools.
- Manage agency relationships and ensure brand consistency across channels.
- Drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights and post-campaign evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in oncology or pharmaceutical brand leadership.
- Proven success developing and executing strategic brand plans within a healthcare or pharmaceutical environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in omnichannel marketing, medical collaboration, and KOL engagement.
- Strong understanding of Canadian market access, reimbursement, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing agencies, promotional material review processes, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead national teams and influence global stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and marketing analytics/CRM tools.
- Proactive, collaborative, and results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Working Conditions:
- Remote-based position within Ontario. Must be able to go into the office in Toronto once per month (min) and once per week (max).
- Fluency in English required; French language proficiency is considered an asset.
- Occasional out-of-country travel to visit partners (Global) and pharma& HQ (Vienna).
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time at a desk.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and meet company travel policy requirements.
