About the Role
We are seeking an Intermediate to Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys variety, responsibility, and working closely with both clients and colleagues. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Canadian personal tax returns and is comfortable overseeing review engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Canadian personal tax returns (T1s)
- Prepare and oversee review engagements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with professional standards
- Prepare and review compilation engagements
- Corporate tax filings, and other accounting functions as needed
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
Qualifications
- Experience preparing and/or reviewing Canadian personal tax returns
- Experience with review engagements (or audit engagements) strongly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience communicating with CRA regarding client matters preferred
- Proficiency with common accounting software (e.g., CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks, or similar)
- CPA designation is a consideration but not required
