The
Shopper Media Connections Planner
is a strategic role accountable for developing shopper media plans for our clients with the goal of driving sales both in store and on line. You will be the key to maintaining the knowledge base of the evolving retailer and retailer-agnostic media landscapes and will proactively inform and educate all Account team members to foster agency depth of knowledge and understanding.
Please note, that this is a hybrid role consisting of remote working from home two days per week (Monday, Friday), and three days working in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Strategic Planning and Implementation
- Continuously develop a robust understanding of the ever changing retail media ecosystem in Canada, including both retailer-agnostic media platforms and all Canadian retail media networks.
- Through an understanding of Shopper behaviour, recommend strategic plans that account for the intersection between all shopper media platforms, and align marketing objectives with target shopper behaviours when planning national and/or regional shopper activations.
- Accountable to:
- Build plans that identify the most effective platforms to reach our target audience, and when and why to utilize
- Bring forward 'test and learn' opportunities whether net new platforms or testing messaging
- Assess campaign effectiveness
- Be the lead in identifying shopper program optimizations alongside Account & Strategy leads
- Routinely collaborate with Account leads (Account Director, Account Manager) on client activations, including attending client briefings, presentations and post-analysis reporting
- In collaboration with the Account leads, provide thought leadership and assist in managing client shopper media budgets through identification of emerging opportunities and the unlocking of value with key vendors for future program optimization
Networking
- Have a presence and participate in various industry events as hosted by retailer media networks & media vendors
- Build strong relationships with the client while working closely with cross-functional teams including consumer marketing, trade development, operations, merchandising, category managers, directors and buyers, as applicable
- Contribute to new business opportunities for the agency as the subject expert on Shopper Media Connections Planning
YOUR AREAS OF EXPERTISE
- Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, business, or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of shopper marketing or digital media planning & execution experience, preferably from an agency, client-side or retailer media network setting
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Have a thorough understanding of media analytics across each platform and how to utilize for future program optimization
- Dynamic personality able to effectively engage and influence a variety of audiences
- Sound decision making skills based in agency, client, and industry knowledge
- Strong growth mindset that contributes ways to improve and grow the business
- Strong listening skills and attention to detail
- Strong presentation skills
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
