JOB TITLE: Screening Contractor Training Representative
REPORTS TO: Training and Performance Manager
DIVISION: Aviation
CLASSIFICATION: Temporary Full-Time as outlined in Collective Bargaining Agreement
SALARY: $75,000
POSTING DATE: October 22, 2025
CLOSING DATE: October 29, 2025
This opportunity allows Screening Officers to qualify as a Screening Contractor Training Representative (SCTR) in accordance with Memorandum of Agreement #5 in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Reporting to the Training and Development Manager, the Screening Contractor Training Representative will work closely with our client CATSA in delivering all classroom and KPI training while ensuring the highest possible standards of training delivery. This position has full responsibility for delivering training requirements as per SOPs (CATSA) to certified Screening Officers at YXS.
Screening Officers that meet the below requirements are welcome to apply:
- Must attain and maintain CATSA certifications
- Valid CATSA Medical and RAIC
- Must attain a minimum score of 90% on LMS & XRT Exams.
- Must not have incurred a Performance Event (PER) within the past year Additional competencies assessed through the interview and review process:
- Successful applicants must be in good standing
- PBS certified for at least one year is strongly recommended and considered an asset.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate advanced presentation and facilitation skills.
- Candidates will also be assessed on their ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an engaging manner.
Applicants selected to continue must successfully complete all CATSA required Training and Sign Offs within 90 days. This includes the following:
- 3 Day SCTR Qualification Course
- 2 Day SCTR Sign Off
- SOF Assist
Compensation
- Screening Officers will receive the Lead Screener pay rate for the duration of the assignment. Upon successful completion of the SCTR Qualification Program, the SCTR will earn a salary of $75,000.
As you may be aware, the SCTR position was recently certified by the Canada Industrial Relations
Board. The IAM and Paladin are negotiating the addition of the SCTR position into the Collective Bargaining Agreement and compensation is subject to change based on the result of those negotiations.
