Overview:

We are seeking a skilled 1st or 2nd year HD Mechanic Apprentice to join our team at Slasher Mechanical. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various types of Trucks, cranes, machinery and equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail. Experience with Engine rebuilding, engine diagnostics, and electronic diagnostics are an asset and potential employees with this knowledge would be given priority.

Duties:

- Conduct regular inspections and diagnostic tests on machinery and equipment

- Identify mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs

- Troubleshoot electrical systems and make necessary repairs or replacements

- Assemble, disassemble, and reassemble machinery components as needed

- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating parts and changing fluids

- Operate heavy machinery, such as cranes or forklifts, to move equipment when necessary

- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects

- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions

Requirements:

-Proven experience as a Mechanic or similar role. Looking for a 1st or 2nd year Heavy duty mechanic apprentice for the position.

-Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and industrial equipment

-Proficient in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems

-Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks

-Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus

-Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

-Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team

-Experience with Electronic diagnostics with Cummins, Cat, Detroit Diesel, Kenworth, Western star, and Freightliners would be preferred

-Experience with Cat, Cummins, and Detroit Diesel engines would be preferred
