Position Overview
The Vice President of Business Development is a key member of the team responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that support revenue and profit growth, client retention, and market expansion. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in insurance brokerage sales, a deep understanding of the Canadian and US group benefits industry, and a proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.

that has a passion for building client-centric solutions, can drive strategic growth initiatives and expand our presence nationally.
Key Responsibilities

Execute a growth-focused sales strategy for the Group Benefits Brokerage - Drive new business development through strategic partnerships, prospecting, and key account targeting
- Serve as the primary advisor for a portfolio of clients, ensuring a high level of service and proactive communication including ensuring seamless implementation and ongoing service delivery
- Monitor sales performance metrics and pipeline prospects, prepare forecasting and report to the management team
- Collaborate with the Client Operations team to ensure seamless onboarding and retention, and to promote a positive client experience
- Build strong relationships and collaborate with carrier partners and vendors to enhance client offerings
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes impacting the business
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings as a thought leader and brand ambassador
- Ensure compliance with all industry regulations
- Contribute to a culture of integrity, innovation, and client focus within the brokerage
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive sales experience in group benefits insurance, with at least 3–5 years in a sales leadership role
- Deep understanding of group health, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefit products
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth
- Strong relationships with carriers, TPAs, MGAs and benefits and wellness technology vendors a plus
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to execute strategic business development plans
- Strong negotiation skills
- Life Licence Qualification Program (LLQP) licensed; additional certifications (e.g., CEBS, GBA, CHU) a plusBachelor's degree a plus
