MAJOR DUTIES:

Responsible for all aspects of programming for Angstrom Engineering systems including machine start up and testing.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to translate customer needs into software requirements and code
  • Develop and maintain the Angstrom Engineering Software Products
  • Develop and program effective, logical and reusable PLC code
  • Configure and generate Angstrom's software package
  • Integrate and verify all operational aspects of the system are to specification
  • Support the test and process team in configuring and debugging the software
  • Suggest modifications or changes to standards and procedures for continuous improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree in software/electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Omron), including ladder logic, function blocks and structured text
  • Servo programming, integration and tuning experience
  • Familiar with EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, RS232 and other communication platforms
  • Understanding of code versioning
  • Ability to read, follow and understand electrical schematics
  • Resourceful and the ability to work and grow independently
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems
