About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and purpose-driven Senior Commercial Manager to lead Playmove Canada's commercial strategy and market expansion. This leadership role is critical to advancing our mission of transforming education through technology and inclusion.

The initial focus will be on Ontario, building strong commercial foundations in private schools, clinics, NGOs, and homeschooling communities. As the company grows, this position will be responsible for scaling operations to other provinces and preparing Playmove for entry into the public school system, ensuring long-term national impact.

The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in commercial leadership within the education, EdTech, or nonprofit sectors, with strong experience in market development, B2B partnerships, and sales execution, including SaaS and PaaS business models. ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the commercial strategy in Ontario, with a roadmap for national expansion.
  • Lead market entry in private schools, clinics, NGOs, and homeschooling segments.
  • Prepare Playmove for future engagement with public schools across Canada.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align sales targets with company growth objectives.

Sales & Business Development

  • Build and manage the sales pipeline, driving lead generation, prospecting, and closing deals.
  • Develop sales models for hardware, SaaS, and PaaS offerings.
  • Represent Playmove at educational events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Oversee sales operations, including reporting, forecasting, and CRM management.
  • Support e-commerce and Experience Center initiatives for homeschooling clients.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a growing sales team.
  • Establish sales processes, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, motivation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales leadership roles, preferably in EdTech, SaaS, or education-related industries.
  • Proven track record of scaling markets and achieving ambitious revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles, SaaS/PaaS models, partnerships, and contract negotiations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and multicultural environment.
  • Experience in the Canadian education market is considered a strong asset.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Annual Salary:

CAD $120,000 (CAD $10,000 per month), paid monthly via payroll and subject to statutory deductions (CPP, EI, and income tax).
- Vacation & Leaves:

Entitled to four (4) weeks of paid vacation per year, as well as all applicable public holidays and leaves of absence in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA) and Company policy.
- Paid Sick Leave:

Eligible for three (3) paid sick days per calendar year, after two (2) consecutive weeks of employment, in compliance with the ESA. Sick days reset every January 1 and do not carry over.
- Benefits:

Eligible to participate in the Company-sponsored benefits program (health, dental, and others) once implemented, in accordance with plan terms and eligibility requirements.
- This position is classified as Exempt under the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA), meaning the Employee is not eligible for overtime pay.

WORK HOURS & LOCATION

  • Standard Workweek:

40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, from
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

- Meal Period:

Employees are entitled to a 30-minute unpaid meal break for every five (5) consecutive hours worked, in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA).
- Work Location:

This is a full-time, in-person position based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), where Playmove's new head office and experience center will be established from December 2025 onward, in accordance with the Company's Work Location Policy.
- Remote Work:

Remote work may be permitted only under exceptional circumstances and requires prior written approval from management. When authorized, the Employee must maintain a safe and ergonomically appropriate workspace and comply with all Company policies regarding confidentiality, privacy, and health and safety.

Employment is subject to Playmove's disciplinary and termination policies, administered in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA).
