About the Role

We are an established
asset-based trucking company
located in Mirabel, Quebec, providing local and regional highway transportation services using dry van and reefer trailers. We are seeking an experienced
Business Development Specialist
who understands the trucking industry, has a proven background in sales, and thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving revenue growth through new business acquisition, account development, and client retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the transportation sector (LTL and FTL).
  • Negotiate and secure commercial agreements with local and regional customers.
  • Manage and grow existing accounts to ensure long-term satisfaction and organic business expansion.
  • Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless service execution.
  • Monitor market trends, competition, and customer needs to develop tailored solutions.
  • Maintain regular customer contact and an active presence in the field to support business growth.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience
    in sales or business development within an
    asset-based trucking environment
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    LTL and FTL operations
    , including local and cross-border markets.
  • Proven skills in
    sales negotiation, client acquisition, and account retention
    .
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Fluency in
    French and English
    (spoken and written).
  • Professional demeanor, proactive attitude, and strong customer focus.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid position
    based in Mirabel, QC – requires
    3–4 weeks on-site
    for onboarding and transition.
  • Base salary: $50,000–$60,000
    depending on experience.
  • Attractive commission structure
    on new business.
  • Bonus incentives
    tied to organic growth of existing accounts.

Responsabilités principales

  • Prospecter et développer de nouvelles relations d'affaires dans le secteur du transport (LTL/FTL).
  • Négocier des ententes commerciales et conclure des contrats avec des clients régionaux et locaux.
  • Gérer et développer le portefeuille de clients existants afin d'assurer une croissance organique et une fidélisation à long terme.
  • Collaborer avec les équipes des opérations et du service à la clientèle pour assurer une exécution optimale.
  • Surveiller les tendances du marché, la concurrence et les besoins des clients pour proposer des solutions adaptées.
  • Maintenir une présence régulière auprès des clients et sur le terrain pour soutenir les efforts de développement.

Exigences du poste

  • Minimum de
    3 à 5 ans d'expérience
    en vente ou développement des affaires dans une entreprise de camionnage ou transport
    à flotte d'actifs
    .
  • Bonne connaissance des opérations
    LTL et FTL
    , ainsi que des marchés régionaux et transfrontaliers.
  • Compétences éprouvées en
    négociation, prospection et fidélisation de la clientèle
    .
  • Capacité à travailler de manière autonome tout en collaborant efficacement avec les autres départements.
  • Maîtrise du français et de l'anglais (oral et écrit).
  • Excellente présentation professionnelle, attitude proactive et sens aigu du service client.
