About the HR Operations Team:
HR Ops at Wealthsimple ensures the seamless functioning of our core people processes. We maximize the efficiency of our internal teams and operating model by automating manual workflows and serving as the connecting force between people, processes, and technology. Our focus is on introducing and standardizing tools that empower employees to self-serve while driving operational excellence across the HR function
This is a unique, technically driven role embedded within an enabling functions team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Operations, this position is part of the broader People Operations team where you'll collaborate closely with our HR Information Systems and Security teams to streamline and enhance the employee experience through systems and process innovation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Design, test, and implement HR automations and tooling enhancements across platforms such as Workato, JIRA, and Workday. Support the HR Operations team in maintaining accurate, efficient workflows across key HR processes (onboarding, job changes, data management, and more). Identify and analyze process gaps to propose and execute automation opportunities that improve efficiency. Advocate for frameworks that will support long-term scalability and operational excellence Develop and maintain business process documentation, playbooks, and training materials to enable automation adoption across HR Operations and the broader People team. Own the monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mission-critical automated processes and jobs running on automation platforms Mentor and guide team members in technical skill development and stay current with emerging technologies like AI and industry best practices to continuously enhance the team's technical capabilities What You Bring: Learning experience in Engineering, Computer Science or another technical equivalent Technical expertise in API consumption, automation frameworks, and cross-systems architecture design Strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of establishing strong partnerships across teams Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience using data-driven insights to guide technical and strategic decisions Comfortable working with ambiguity and working autonomously. You have strong personal accountability for high quality work, actively finding opportunities for improvement Why Wealthsimple?
