About DCL Supply
We're a nimble, customer-focused small business with a team of ~15 people and a reputation for reliability, speed, and service. As we continue to grow and evolve, we're looking for a seasoned Inventory Control Specialist who can take ownership of the core systems, processes, and people that keep our warehouse running.
About The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and process-minded Inventory Control Specialist who thrives in hands-on warehouse work but also demonstrates leadership potential. This role focuses primarily on receiving accuracy and inventory reliability, followed by shipping efficiency and occasional delivery support. The right candidate will not only excel in daily operations but will also take ownership of improving processes, training others, and working closely with the Warehouse Manager.
What You'll Do
- Inventory Accuracy & Receiving
- Accurately receive, verify, and record incoming goods.
- Ensure inventory counts are correct, reliable, and reconciled with system data.
- Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory and documentation.
- Shipping Operations
- Prepare, package, and stage outgoing shipments with precision and timeliness.
- Verify documentation and order accuracy prior to shipping.
- Process Ownership & Improvement
- Document, review, and refine receiving, shipping, and inventory control processes.
- Track performance metrics (accuracy, throughput, error rates) and propose improvements.
- Leadership Development
- Mentor and support new team members by modeling best practices.
- Take on "acting lead" responsibilities when the Warehouse Manager is unavailable.
- Collaborate with other departments (purchasing, sales, logistics) to improve warehouse flow.
- Safety & Efficiency
- Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely.
- Support the Warehouse Manager in maximizing space utilization and resource efficiency.
What You Bring
- Current forklift license.
- Minimum 2 year's of proven warehouse operations experience.
- Strong organizational and process-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Analytical skills to track and act on warehouse data.
- Effective communicator, comfortable working across teams.
- Interest in leadership development and long-term growth.
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing business needs.
- Must have a clean driver's abstract.
Work Schedule
This role requires flexibility in hours. While most shifts will align with standard warehouse hours, the candidate must be prepared to work alternate hours on certain days of the week as business needs dictate.
Ready to make your mark? We're excited to connect with leaders who are driven to shape, strengthen, and grow a business from the inside out.
Please inform us if you require any accommodations during the hiring process. Please note that only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted and we are not sponsoring visas for this position.
