Role Responsibilities:
- Performing mechanical/material properties characterization under ISO/ASTM standards. This includes but is not limited to powder testing, metallography, chemical analysis, mechanical testing and Computed Tomography.
- Support and perform quality control inspections and checks.
- Create documentation based on quality records and quality inspections.
- Support Burloak's activities for research and development programs on materials and process/quality development for additive manufacturing.
- Support Burloak's activities with regard to AS9100, ISO17025 and NADCAP accreditations for quality, materials and mechanical testing lab
- Perform engineering/quality functions under AS9100 quality management system requirements
Qualification Requirements
- Pursuing a college degree or BS in Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical degree with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Eligible for the co-op program for the duration of the contract Training-Technical Requirements
- It is imperative that the successful candidate can quickly learn technical procedures as they will be trained by the Burloak Engineering team on the specific equipment and standardized testing that is being performed.
- Demonstrated computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload and rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
- Ability to multitask, teamwork and schedule management.
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills; problem-solving / troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to be comfortable moving and working around the lab for multiple hours.
