What You Will Be Doing
The Head of AI & Agentic Development leads the development and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and agentic AI capabilities for Tangerine. This role focuses on building AI features and solutions across business lines at Tangerine, identifying opportunities for AI application, ensuring that AI initiatives are in alignment with the business unit's strategic goals, and ensuring the successful development and implementation of the initiatives selected.

• Lead a team of AI engineers, full-stack engineers, and architects to implement AI models and agentic workflows across Tangerine business lines.
• Define and drive the long-term architecture and strategy for AI at Tangerine.
• Stay connected to leading-edge developments in the AI industry and apply new technologies to create differentiated client experiences and business operations at Tangerine.
• Drive adoption of generative AI across Tangerine, engaging stakeholders on the benefits and creating methods and forums to educate users on prompt techniques and agentic workflows
• Collaborate with business, risk, finance and analytics leaders to align agentic platform design and requirements to advance business objectives
• Build knowledge and context management methodologies and systems to further the adoption of AI use across business and technology teams, and support the operation and maintenance of AI systems
• Align with enterprise Data, AI, and Architecture leadership to ensure patterns and solutions within Tangerine satisfy enterprise governance and risk protocol and comply with the organization's AI Risk Management Guidelines.
• Collaborate with engineering and product management leadership to drive adoption of generative AI across the software development lifecycle, spanning from design to development, testing, and operations.
• Champion secure, compliant data and AI platforms and advocate for best practices across business and technology teams.
• Mentor senior engineers and contribute to technical leadership forums to foster a culture of excellence.
• Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or higher is preferred.
• Deep expertise in architecting and implementing agentic solutions in enterprise environments
• Proven leadership in cross-functional initiatives involving AI, governance, and security.
• Hands-on experience with RAG pipelines, MCP servers, and ML pipelines.
• Strong influence in cloud infrastructure design and platform scalability.
• Knowledge of AI governance, guardrails, and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to align AI initiatives with business strategy and executive priorities.
• A track record of mentoring and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
