In order to meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking
Senior Structural Engineer
to join our team, located in one of our offices in
Ontario or Atlantic Canada
.
This position is within the
Hydropower & Dams market sector of the Power Division
, which has 140 employees across Canada. This position will play a crucial role in providing senior expertise in designing and optimizing the civil and structural elements of hydroelectric projects (development, rehabilitation), dam and hydraulic structures engineering, and dam safety. We work in collaboration with public and private sector clients on innovative projects that allow our team members to prove their expertise and to train a new generation of passionate people.

What you can expect to do here:
- You will lead in conducting feasibility studies and detailed engineering of new structures or rehabilitation of existing structures (dams, spillways, hydroelectric power plants).
- You will lead in the completion and review of reinforced concrete and steel structure design.
- You will participate in site inspections as needed.
- You will lead the preparation of plans and specifications.
- You will prepare reports and calculation notes.
- You will lead and carry out dam safety studies.
- You will mentor and supervise younger engineers.
What you'll bring to WSP:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent program.
- 12+ years' experience in structural engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in your province of practice.
- MUST HAVE experience with concrete and steel structure design in Hydropower and Dams projects.
- Multi-disciplinary versatility, leadership skills, dynamic, team-spirited, quality-oriented, and technical excellence are essential.
- Strong communication skills.
