With divisions ranging from rocket propulsion and spaceports, to satellite development and planetary robotics, NordSpace is driven to do everything it takes to bring space closer to Earth. As the Space Systems Program Director at NordSpace, you will be leading NordSpace's Phase 2 and 3 space systems go-to-market strategy, ranging from satellite development for external customers as well as developing NordSpace's internal space systems application layer.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for satellite systems and space-related hardware/software, aligning business goals with commercial & government/defence customer needs and technological feasibility. 
  • Embrace an agile product development approach, leading rapid cycles of prototyping, testing, and iteration to validate features and accelerate delivery. 
  • Engage directly with customers, prospects, partners, and internal engineering teams to capture market opportunities and user requirements. Transform user feedback and market insights into actionable product requirements and prioritized backlogs. 
  • Monitor competitive landscape and emerging space technologies to inform innovation and product positioning. Prepare business cases, budget forecasts, and support pricing strategy to ensure product profitability and growth. 
  • Facilitate go-to-market strategies and sales enablement through targeted messaging, technical content, and customer engagement. Lead the writing of proposals and bid submissions to relevant RFP and other competitive business opportunities. 
  • Support commercial teams in customer meetings and trade shows, serving as the product subject matter expert. Represent NordSpace in industry forums, conferences, and partner ecosystems to elevate the product portfolio visibility. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams across engineering, manufacturing, sales & marketing, customer operations, regulatory affairs, and finance to ensure product features are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with market expectations. 
  • Manage product lifecycle post-launch, tracking key performance indicators, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement opportunities. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in space systems or satellite product management, ground segment software, or related aerospace domains. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in agile product development methodologies including sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative delivery. 
  • Strong understanding of satellite systems, space mission operations, ground segment infrastructure, or satellite communication networks. 
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear product specifications and user stories. 
  • Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams in engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support. 
  • Business-oriented mindset with skills in market assessment, business case development, and P&L contribution. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging both technical and business stakeholders effectively. 
  • Experience representing products publicly and supporting customer-facing events and sales efforts. 
  • Familiarity with space industry standards, regulatory environments, and export compliance is an advantage. 
  • Prior experience at satellite constellation operators (e.g., Starlink, Amazon Kuiper, Kepler Communications) or space technology startups strongly preferred. 
  • Results-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings initiative and creativity to the team. 

All roles are full-time in-person at our Markham, Ontario location or our St. John's, Newfoundland location. Occasional travel to Ottawa, Ontario and St. Lawrence, Newfoundland, will be required.
