Asset Integrity Engineer/Specialist

About the Role:
CANEIL is seeking two Asset Integrity Engineer/Specialists on either a full-time permanent basis or a 1-year contract to support pipeline integrity work in the oil and gas sector. The successful candidate will be based in Calgary, with travel to various field locations in the area as required. One position will focus on the Medicine Hat and Estevan area while the other will focus on the Lloydminster, Bonnyville, and Slave Lake area. The role is focused exclusively on pipeline systems, with minimal involvement in facility work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pipeline integrity evaluations, assessments, and technical reviews (e.g., corrosion rate modeling)
- Support implementation of integrity management plans, including ILI analysis, dig program planning, repair recommendations, corrosion programs, and field risk management
- Coordinate with field and engineering teams for planning and execution of integrity activities
- Review inspection reports, monitor pipeline conditions, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards
- Prepare technical documentation and clearly communicate findings to internal stakeholders
- Travel to field sites as needed to support ongoing integrity program efforts
- Perform engineering assessments such as pipeline resumptions, H₂S increases, MOP decreases, and other related evaluations in accordance with applicable regulations and standards
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pipeline integrity within the oil and gas industry
- Familiarity with upstream processes and industry codes and standards (CSA, API, ABSA, TSASK, etc.)
- Strong communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
Assets:
- Certifications or training related to pipeline, asset integrity, or engineering
- Experience working in both field and office environments
- Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, defect assessments, and repair methodologies
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $75,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
