Regulatory Compliance Coordinator

PURPOSE
Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance by verifying that all finished product packaging, specifications, and labeling meet the requirements of the country of sale. Also responsible for reviewing raw materials to confirm they comply with applicable regulations.
Provides customer support related to product regulatory matters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
(including, but not limited to)
- Support new product launches by completing regulatory reviews of ingredient declarations, Nutrition Facts tables/panels, and labels to ensure compliance with the country-of-sale regulations.
- Participate in customer-branded label reviews and the artwork approval process.
- Review raw material specifications, Nutrition Facts, and other regulatory documents to ensure compliance.
- Update raw material and finished product specifications as required.
- Provide customer documentation and respond to regulatory-related inquiries.
- Create and maintain documentation in customer specification portals as required.
- Support GFSI, Kosher, Halal, Organic, and other certification programs and regulatory audits.
- Build organizational knowledge and capability in compliance, innovation, and public affairs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to execute action plans addressing questions, issues, or objections from regulatory agencies.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned by the Company.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs or R&D within the food industry.
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems including GFSI (e.g., SQF, BRCGS, HACCP, GMPs).
- Up-to-date knowledge of FDA, CFIA, and other relevant international regulations, labeling, and claims requirements.
- Ability to interpret regulatory, industry, customer, and internal documentation and communicate requirements clearly to stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; able to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels and across departments.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; attention to detail is essential.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
Compensation based on experience will range from $55,000-65,000, with benefits and profit sharing.
