Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The goal is to ensure the efficient and safe handling of goods, contributing to our overall operational success and maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck) to load, unload, transport, and stack materials and products in and around the warehouse.
  • Perform daily equipment checks, such as recharging the truck's battery and lubricating equipment, and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Accurately pick, wrap, and stage orders for shipment, ensuring all documentation is correct and products are free from damage.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area by complying with all company policies, safety procedures, and legal regulations.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock-taking activities, ensuring the accuracy of warehouse inventory records.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Valid and current forklift operator certification/license (e.g., RTITB, ITSSAR, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a busy warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to workplace health and safety standards.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding role.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning guns.
  • First aid certification.
  • Experience operating multiple types of material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, order pickers).
