Role Overview

As Technical Solutions Architect at Acorn, you'll design, implement, and maintain integrations and technical configurations for Acorn customers, while providing technical escalation support via the Acorn support channel. You'll ensure reliable data flow between systems, resolve technical issues efficiently, and provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders, all while collaborating closely with our Implementation

The 4 levels comprise Foundational, Developing, Proficient, Advanced.

Here are the 5 key capabilities for the role and the level expected to give you an idea of what the role entails:

  1. Integration Design and Delivery:
    Design, build, and maintain customer integrations that ensure seamless data exchange, technical reliability, and scalable performance across systems.
    Level – Proficient:
    At the proficient stage, you design and maintain complex integrations end to end. You identify performance risks and refine processes. Your delivery improves scalability and reliability.
  2. Issue Diagnosis and Resolution:
    Identify, analyse, and resolve integration or system issues to maintain consistent, secure, and predictable delivery performance.
    Level – Proficient:
    At the proficient stage, you lead resolution of complex issues and identify root causes. You automate repeat fixes and improve team workflows. Your work strengthens system reliability.
  3. Data Management and Validation:
    Manage and validate data across integrations to uphold accuracy, integrity, and compliance, enabling reliable insights and informed decision-making.
    Level – Developing:
    At the developing stage, you analyse data sets and reconcile discrepancies across systems. You document checks and resolve common issues. Your diligence improves confidence in reporting.
  4. Knowledge Development and Documentation:
    Develop and maintain clear, structured documentation and reusable templates that enhance consistency, scalability, and knowledge retention.
    Level – Developing:
    At the developing stage, you maintain reusable templates and update solution documentation. You improve clarity and completeness. Your work enables repeatable, efficient delivery.
  5. Cross-Team Coordination and Communication:
    Coordinate effectively across product, implementation, and customer teams to deliver integrated solutions and ensure reliable, on-time technical outcomes.
    Level – Proficient:
    At the proficient stage, you lead cross-functional coordination for integration projects. You manage dependencies and ensure visibility. Your influence improves delivery quality and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain customer integrations (APIs, SFTP, SSO, HRIS, analytics tools, etc.)
  • Respond to and resolve customer technical issues submitted via the Acorn support channel
  • Diagnose integration and data synchronization issues using SQL
    ,

    ,
    and AWS Redshift
  • Configure or verify DNS records (CNAME, TXT) and assist with AWS Route 53 setup for custom domains or SSO endpoints
  • Provide technical consultation to internal teams and customers on integration setup and best practices
  • Automate or optimize routine data transfer and configuration tasks using Power Automate or other workflow tools
  • Document configuration standards, troubleshooting steps, and reusable templates
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering on recurring technical improvements
  • Track project tasks and milestones through HubSpot, Trello, and Jira.

Required Experience

  • 2–4 years of experience in system integration, technical implementation, or SaaS delivery
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, data transformation, and authentication (OAuth, SAML)
  • Proficiency with SQL and experience using TablePlus and/or AWS Redshift
  • Working knowledge of AWS Route 53 and DNS record management for custom domains
  • Hands-on experience with Power Automate or other workflow tools (e.g., Zapier)
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical support cases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and business contexts
  • Proficient in CRM
    and project management software (HubSpot, Trello, Jira)

Compensation

One of our core values is transparency and we believe in being upfront with candidates throughout the recruitment process, to make sure expectations are aligned.

This role sits within a salary range of ($70k - $100k) + 9% RRSP contribution, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Vancouver, Canada
. We are an office-first company, meaning we work from our local offices the majority (if not all) of the time. We want to create cool stuff with great people, and we know from experience that is best done through daily moments like the coffee run, walk to grab lunch, or quick huddles. Being able to capitalise on this is key to our ongoing success and a large part of the reason we can work at the pace we do. Please note candidates will need to be in commuting distance to our office based in Gastown, Vancouver.
