Bulk Excavation Foreman

RTR Terra Contracting Ltd is a full-service excavation contractor that provides a multitude of services of various sizes in and around Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Terra was formed over 10 years ago by a group of exceptional and knowledgeable construction and operation managers that have over 25 years of experience.

The Opportunity:

Terra's Bulk Foreman is dedicated to safety, works well with a diverse group of people, is reliable, professional, takes pride in their work, and seeking a long-term commitment. Terra's Bulk Foreman has their driver's license and maintains a good driving record. The ideal foreman candidate has at 1-2 years experience in the construction industry. Terra's Bulk Foreman works under the direct supervision of Terra's Bulk Superintendent.

A day in the life of the Bulk Foreman- roles and responsibilities:

• Overseeing the safety and performance of crews on various and sometimes challenging projects
• Entering timecards for your crew onto HCSS app from iPad
• Utilize a laser to maintain grade on site.
• Leading from the front lines: directing the work and being always with your crew.
• Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to provide clear instructions to the crew.
• Maintaining daily records including crew and equipment time, material receiving, productions and summary of activity on site
• Providing training, safety orientations, and ensuring the development of the crew
• Planning to ensure materials and resources are in place ahead of the work.
• Always working in a safe and respectful manner on Terra and client job sites.
• Operating as a productive member of a high functioning team
• Other duties and tasks as and when required.

Qualifications- what you bring to the organization:

• You have previous 1-2 years experience as a Foreman.
• You have experience in the construction industry.
• Safety- orientated, always adheres to safety.
• Class 5 Driver's License Required
• Have a good driving record.
• Is committed to be a reliable, professional, and consistent team player.
• Safety Certifications an asset
• Ability to commute and work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to work 5 days a week, 8+ hours pay.
• Ability to perform intense manual labour and lift.
• Basic Computer skills required.
• Previous Bulk excavation experience an asset.
