POSITION SUMMARY:
The Harm Reduction Outreach Worker provides information, education, and equipment directly to people who use drugs by applying a variety of harm reduction strategies, including the provision of harm reduction supplies, referrals to relevant agencies, and ongoing support as appropriate and needed. While the main responsibilities of the outreach worker are to provide direct services, peer engagement, and community development are also key components of the role. QUALIFICATIONS:
· Diploma or degree in addictions, social services, or related field;
· Experience working in a community setting, preferably in the area of addictions or harm reduction;
· Knowledge and understanding of harm reduction principles;
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
· Ability to work with people who use drugs and are living with or at risk of HIV and/or Hepatitis C;
· Effective presentation skills;
· Valid driver's license and use of a vehicle are required;
· Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, and travel to meet program needs;
· Fluency in both official languages is considered an asset;
· Satisfactory criminal background check;
· Required to comply with Immunization policies, including COVID-19 vaccination, unless a valid medical exemption is provided.

Titres et qualités:
· Diplôme en toxicomanie, en services sociaux ou dans un autre domaine connexe;
· Expérience de travail au sein d'une communauté, de préférence dans le domaine de la toxicomanie ou de la réduction des méfaits;
· Connaissance et compréhension des principes de la réduction des méfaits;
· Excellentes aptitudes interpersonnelles et de communication;
· Capacité à travailler avec des personnes qui consomment des drogues et qui sont atteintes, ou à risque d'être atteintes, du VIH ou de l'hépatite C;
· Aptitudes à faire des présentations efficaces;
· Permis de conduire valide et utilisation d'un véhicule requis;
· Volonté de travailler selon des heures flexibles, y compris les fins de semaine et le voyage pour répondre aux besoins du programme;
· Fournir une preuve de vérification du casier judiciaire et des antécédents en sue d'un travail auprès des personnes vulnérables;
· Adhérer à toutes les pratiques en matière de prévention et de contrôle des infections, y compris la vaccination contre la COVID-19, à moins qu'une exemption médicale valide ne soit fournie.
