Job Description: The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of speech and communication disorders in a pediatric population with a primary focus on children with identified hearing loss. This includes tasks such as completing reports, education of patients and families, providing counseling and consultation. This position reports to the Manager of the Children's developmental Programs and within a multidisciplinary team provides the delivery of speech language pathology services to children who fall within the mandate of the WRC Children's Program. This work is performed under the supervision of a Senior Speech Language Pathologist. . "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement". HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.

Education/Experience
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Saskatchewan
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of models of assessment and therapeutic interventions appropriate for the treatment of children's speech and language diagnoses, feeding and swallowing disorders, assistive technology and cleft lip and palate services.
- Experience in the pediatric population in the context of Children identified with hearing loss.
- Knowledge of American Sign language is an asset
- Knowledge of Deaf and hard of hearing culture is an asset.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with utilizing a range of diagnostic instruments and clinical observation skills typically used to assess speech and language disorders in preschool children.
- Abilities to develop and maintain consulting relationships within a multidisciplinary team, interagency programs and across the community of human services.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team and independently to manage complex and multiple demands.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
- Effective time management skills and organizational skills.
- Must be flexible and able to work in non-traditional roles and work places.
- Ability and willingness to travel within our service delivery area. This program is a provincial program.
- Ability to be innovative and creative.
- Ability to apply the principles of Patient & Family Centered Care, supporting and collaborating through the patient's journey
- Ability to develop education programs/group training for parents/caregivers as well as colleagues specific to hearing health
- Knowledge and experience with American Sign language, understanding and appreciation of deaf culture is an asset.
