Job Type: Casual position (6 hours per week)
Schedule: Twice a week
About Us:
The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association (SFFA) is committed to supporting foster families and creating nurturing environments for children and youth in care across the province. We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Domestic Support Worker to assist with housekeeping and organization within a foster home. This is a part-time position with potential for additional hours in the future.
Position Overview:
As a Domestic Support Worker, you will play an integral role in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe home environment. You will be responsible for performing various housekeeping tasks, ensuring that all areas of the home are well-maintained and organized. The ideal candidate will have strong time management skills, be able to work independently, and take pride in keeping the home clean and orderly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the home.
- Manage kitchen duties, including sanitizing countertops, cupboards, tables, and chairs, and organizing within cupboards, pantry, and refrigerator.
- Clean and maintain kitchen appliances, such as cooking ranges, dishwashers, and microwaves.
- Empty waste bins and garbage cans.
- Dust living areas, including window blinds and interior windows.
- Sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, and sinks.
- Sanitize common surfaces throughout the home, including door handles, baseboards, and walls.
- Wash, fold, and put away laundry.
- Accurately document tasks completed.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Criminal Record Check (inclusive of Vulnerable Sector Check).
- Valid Driver's License.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and practices.
- Ability to read and follow instructions.
- Understanding of safety practices when using cleaning agents.
- Previous job experience in house cleaning, commercial property cleaning, or hotel cleaning is preferred.
