Job Summary: Grounds Maintenance team members play a vital role in ensuring the Chicopee property is safe, clean, and accessible throughout the winter season. This position is responsible for maintaining all outdoor spaces, including snow and ice removal, salting/sanding, and general upkeep of the grounds and building exteriors. This role may also support other departments as operational needs arise.

This is a hands-on, outdoor position that requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to guest and staff safety.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily winter maintenance tasks including snow shoveling, salting, sanding, and de-icing walkways, entrances, and other public areas.
  • Maintain the exterior of buildings and surrounding landscape/hardscape to ensure a safe and tidy environment.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of tools, equipment, and utility vehicles used in property maintenance (e.g., snow blowers, shovels, spreaders).
  • Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly to ensure public areas remain clear and safe.
  • Assist with minor repairs or maintenance tasks as required.
  • Support other departments during peak times or as directed by the Director of Operations or designate.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to Chicopee's uniform policy.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario G-Class driver's license required.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 20.4 kg (45 lbs) repeatedly and performing strenuous outdoor tasks in winter conditions.
  • Comfortable operating maintenance tools and light machinery.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; approachable and respectful with guests and coworkers.
  • Flexible schedule with availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on weather and operational needs.
  • Passion for the recreation and outdoor industry is a strong asset.
  • You will provide your own black (no logo) snow pants and provide your own other uniform layer items in compliance with our uniform policy.
