Key Responsibilities

  • Administered, managed, and troubleshot Azure SQL Server databases, including performance tuning, access governance, and issue resolution.
  • Administered Microsoft Fabric environments, managing capacities, monitoring utilization, and deployment. Integrate Fabric lakehouses/datawarehouse with enterprise databases, supporting large-scale analytics.
  • Administered Microsoft Power BI, including dataset refresh failures, RLS configurations, workspace access, usage optimization and deployment
  • Managed Instances, and Cosmos DB for availability, scalability, and performance.
  • Implement HA/DR, backup/restore automation, and PITR/LTR policies.
  • Define and monitor SLOs/SLIs for database and analytics workloads, ensuring reliability and compliance.
  • Led Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for database projects, including DACPAC deployments, automation, and version-controlled releases.
  • Handled Azure resources - Azure Functions, Key Vault, App Services, Storage, Web Jobs, service bus for deployments, configuration, and operational support.
  • Configured monitoring and alerting across Azure resources using Azure Monitor, Dynatrace for proactive issue detection.
  • Performed capacity planning for Azure SQL, Fabric, and related Azure workloads to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
  • Lead incident response, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and optimize costs across database and analytics platforms

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on skills with Azure SQL and CosmosDB (performance tuning, lifecycle management).
  • Proven experience as a Microsoft Fabric and Power BI administrator in enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency with observability tools (Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
  • Solid knowledge of Azure services (Key Vault, Storage, App Services, RBAC).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Cloud cost optimization for database and analytics services.
  • Familiarity with compliance and data governance standards (GDPR, SOC, PCI).
  • Scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for administrative tasks.
