Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Red Seal Automotive Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in automotive repair and maintenance, with a strong focus on diagnostics, electrical systems, transmissions, and powertrain components. This role requires a professional with dealership experience, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with hand tools and power tools. The technician will perform a variety of repairs and services on vehicles, ensuring high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service. Certification as a Red Seal Technician is preferred (but would consider a level 4), along with experience working on Chrysler vehicles .

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics, and electrical testing equipment
  • Perform vehicle maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and alignments
  • Repair and service powertrain components such as transmissions and engines, including diesel engine repairs when necessary
  • Performing vehicle repairs and/or maintenance work as outlined on RO with efficiency and accuracy, performing all duties in accordance with dealership and OEM standards
  • Communicating with Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production/repairs, cycle times and customer communication
  • Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations for repairs while ensuring the safety and reliability of any vehicle that has been repaired prior to them being returned to the customer
  • Document all work performed on the vehicle RO, in a manner consistent with OEM standards
  • Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes as required

Skills

  • Proven dealership experience as an automotive technician or service technician
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, transmissions, powertrain components, and diesel engines
  • Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics software and schematics interpretation
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and alignment machines
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Customer service experience demonstrating professionalism and communication skills
