At Northern Play Therapy, we provide specialized psychotherapy services for children, youth, and families. Our team consists of skilled trauma therapists trained in a variety of evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, CBT, DBT, arts-based, and play-based methods. This diverse expertise allows us to tailor treatment to meet the unique developmental and emotional needs of each child. We collaborate with healthcare providers, educators, and community organizations to ensure coordinated care and support. By creating a safe and engaging therapeutic environment, we help children process their experiences, develop emotional regulation skills, and strengthen relationships with their caregivers.
Role Description
This is a contract role for a Child & Youth Therapist (RSW), working as an Independent Contractor. The therapist will provide psychotherapy services to children, youth, and families, utilizing various evidence-based approaches. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, delivering therapy sessions, and maintaining client records. This is an on-site role located in Sudbury, ON. Supervision and training provided.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, CBT, DBT, arts-based, and play-based methods. Training can be provided.
- Experience in conducting assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Strong skills in delivering therapy sessions and maintaining client records.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with healthcare providers, educators, and community organizations.
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) preferred, BSW required.
- Registration with OCSWSSW.
- Previous experience in child and youth therapy, trauma-informed care, and family systems.
- Commitment to creating a safe and engaging therapeutic environment.
