Community Support Worker

As a Community Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing support to individuals and assist them in daily activities.

Job Details

Locations will be throughout Nova Scotia depending on client locations

$19.10-$22.00 /per hour depending on experience plus mileage

Hours will vary depending on client needs and case assignments.

Qualifications

Degree/Diploma in Human/Social Services related field.

A Valid Drivers License, a reliable vehicle with two million dollars in vehicle liability insurance is a must .

Experience working with individuals who may present with challenging behaviours.

Current First Aid /CPR, Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry, Crisis Intervention Certificate

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and respect

This position requires a variety of shift availability: days, evenings and weekend availability is required.

Job Expectations

Support and encourage individuals to set and achieve goals that allow them to meet their greatest potential for independence while being flexible to their changing needs

Meet person supported at their place of residence, assist with meal preparation and housekeeping duties as needed.

Transportation to and from appointments, leisure activities and other outings as necessary.

Support and encourage community-based opportunities and relationships, including recreational/social activities according to the individual's care plan and interests

Administrative duties to include collaboration with the Community Coordinator and the team members through report writing, meetings, and feedback

Be invested in the success of the client to meet their greatest potential for independence.

Interviews will be done in person at different locations through out the province.
