Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Equipment Operator - Apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy equipment operation and a strong mechanical knowledge base. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of various machinery on construction sites, farms, or other industrial settings.

Duties

  • Operate heavy machinery including dozers, excavators, motor-scrapers and articulated dump trucks to complete construction projects efficiently.
  • Conduct routine inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment to minimize risks on-site.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.
  • Provide support in various construction tasks as needed, demonstrating versatility in equipment operation.

Requirements

  • Experience in heavy equipment operation.
  • Mechanical knowledge to inspect and operate machinery safely.
  • Familiarity with construction practices and safety regulations.
  • Experience with farm machinery is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while demonstrating strong communication skills.
  • Will be required to join IUOE Local 793

Job Type: Seasonal

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 55 per week
