Overview
We are currently hiring dependable and professional
Security Officers
for a variety of sites across Nanaimo, BC — including mobile patrol, bike patrol, retail, events, airport security, and supportive housing.

This role is ideal for candidates with strong communication and customer service skills who thrive in dynamic environments. Some sites may require walking or standing for long periods, as well as flexibility to work mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients, tenants, and the public.
  • Conduct routine foot or mobile patrols to ensure property, personnel, and equipment safety.
  • Monitor and report any security breaches, hazards, or unusual activity.
  • Write clear and accurate daily activity, incident, and emergency reports.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and provide first aid assistance when required.
  • Communicate effectively via two-way radio and digital reporting tools.
  • Assist with access control, crowd management, and trespass enforcement

Requirements
Must Have:

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Valid Basic Security Training (BST) license.
  • Physically able to walk or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • High school diploma.

Nice to Have:

  • At least 6 months of experience in security and/or customer service.
  • Valid OFA Level 1 (or higher) certificate.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License (for mobile patrol roles).
  • Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) — an asset for airport or port work
