Position Summary

The Director of Services is a key member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for the overall leadership, development, and administration of service delivery across the organization. This role ensures that all services align with the vision, mission, and values of Epic Opportunities, and that the service delivery team is held accountable to a quality framework grounded in leading practices.

The Director will establish and maintain a high standard of excellence in service provision, while championing equitable, inclusive, and person-centered practices. They will develop systems and supports that empower people to achieve their personal outcomes and ensure services are responsive to the diverse needs of individuals and communities.

This position also plays a pivotal role in strategic planning related to service development, financial management, program evaluation, employee leadership, and building strong external networks.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Service Delivery

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all service delivery functions.
  • Ensure services reflect and uphold organizational commitments to equity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across all service teams.
  • Develop and inspire systems and supports that help individuals achieve their personal goals and desired outcomes.

Strategic Planning & Development

  • Lead strategic initiatives related to service growth, enhancement, and innovation.
  • Oversee financial management within the service department, ensuring services are efficient, sustainable, and high quality.
  • Conduct regular evaluation of services to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

Team Leadership & Employee Development

  • Provide strong leadership, coaching, and operational support to service delivery leaders and staff.
  • Promote an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative organizational culture.
  • Support employee development through mentorship, performance evaluation, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Encourage diverse perspectives and contributions within teams to enhance service quality and innovation.

External Relations & Partnerships

  • Actively build and maintain relationships with community partners, funders, stakeholders, and networks.
  • Represent Epic Opportunities externally to enhance the organization's presence, partnerships, and reputation.
  • Strengthen partnerships that advance equity, inclusion, and service accessibility.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Human Services, Leadership, or Disability & Community Support Diploma an asset.
  • Significant leadership (5 or more years) experience within social services, community-based support, or a related sector.
  • Demonstrated success in program development, service evaluation, and financial oversight.
  • Strong understanding of person-centered, inclusive, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to ability critical thinking and plan strategically.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams through inspiration, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Experience in developing budgets and a good understanding of financial statements required.
