The Food Centre has an immediate opening for an Extruder Operator to work in the Extrusion R&D program. You will be part of a team involved in extrusion-related projects for food applications with external clients and internal initiatives. Learn and develop your skills in a fast-paced, hands-on, project-based, product development environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in extrusion, food or plastic extrusion, food is preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a machine operator in an industrial setting
  • Skillful experience with MS Excel and Word
  • High school diploma or equivalent, trade or technician certification is an asset

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with extrusion projects
  • Maintain commitment to food safety and good manufacturing practices
  • Set up extruders and downstream processing equipment
  • Adjust machine settings to optimize results
  • Monitor and document machine settings, generate report on extruder and process parameters
  • Troubleshoot product, process, mechanical and electrical issues

Work Conditions:

  • Frequently standing for an 8-hour shift
  • Lifting and moving 25kg bags of flour
