As we expand, we're seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to help manage our financial records and support the smooth operation of our business.
Position Summary: The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling accounts payable and receivable and reconciling bank statements. This role is vital to ensuring the financial health and transparency of Ran Foods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Record daily transactions (sales, purchases, expenses, payments)
- Process invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Handle all supplier payments and record related entries.
- Prepare and maintain a payment schedule for submission to the VP of Operations.
- Provide updated due date ledgers to the VP of Operations and the accounting team.
- Assist with the reconciliation of bank and credit card statements.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments.
- Deposit checks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
- Assist with budget tracking, preparation, and forecasting.
- Assist in preparing L/C (Letter of Credit) applications and tracking their status.
- Maintain records and reporting for returned or damaged goods.
- Support the external accountant during audits or tax filing periods.
- Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for all financial documents.

HR Duties:
Clerical & Filing:
- File and organize employee documents.
- Scan, copy, and upload HR paperwork into digital systems.
- Maintain basic spreadsheets for employee data.
- Enter attendance, vacation, and sick day information into HR systems.
- Update employee contact details and personal records.
- Ensure accuracy of HR databases.
- Post job ads as instructed by HR staff.
- Schedule interviews with candidates.
- Prepare interview folders and room/online meeting set-up.
- Print and prepare new hire packages.
- Collect signed forms and file them properly.
- Assist with ID badge setup, desk arrangements, and office introductions.
- Answer routine HR-related inquiries (e.g., where to find forms).
- Redirect employee questions to the right HR team member.
- Help prepare HR letters and standard templates.
- Support HR team with event logistics (training sessions, employee events).
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
