Major Objective
The primary objective for the Salesman Arborist is to oversee/supervise project activities related to protected trees and prepare technical reports and tree protection plans as required.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand their tree care needs and provide expert guidance.
- Tree Assessment: Evaluate tree health, diagnose issues, and identify potential hazards.
- Service Recommendations: Recommend solutions such as pruning, removal, treatment, or protection measures.
- Proposal Preparation: Create detailed, competitive job-specific quotes and written proposals outlining the scope of work, equipment, and costs.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare tree protection plans, arborist reports, and photo documentation as required.
- Project Oversight: Supervise construction or project activities involving protected trees.
- Site Visits: Conduct on-site inspections and attend meetings with clients, contractors, or municipal officials.
- Regulatory Review: Interpret site plans, municipal bylaws, and legal/arboricultural documents.
- Relationship Building: Maintain professional relationships with clients, municipalities, and contractors.
- Project Management: Manage jobs from the lead stage through to job completion and invoicing.
Qualifications (Mandatory)
- Holder of a valid Ontario Class 'G' driver's license, with a clean driving record
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ISA Certified Arborist in good standing
- Graduate of a recognized program in arboriculture, urban forestry or equivalent
- Practical knowledge of tree biology, tree biomechanics and arboricultural practices
Qualifications (An Asset)
- Competent in technical report-writing, tree identification & assessment
- Previous industry Sales or Estimator experience
